Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program Resumes Tech Draw After 3-Month Pause

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has resumed its technology sector draws after a three-month administrative pause, issuing 540 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to skilled technology workers in its latest round.

The draw targeted candidates under the Human Capital Priorities stream with a focus on software development and information technology roles. Successful candidates must have an active Express Entry profile with a minimum CRS score of 440.

Who Received NOIs?

OINP targeted candidates with experience in the following NOC codes:

  • 21221 — Biological engineers
  • 21222 — Chemical engineers
  • 21230 — Computer systems developers and programmers
  • 21231 — Software engineers and designers
  • 21232 — Software developers and programmers

Next Steps for Notified Candidates

Candidates who receive an NOI have 45 days to submit a complete nomination application through the OINP e-Filing Portal. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to a candidate’s CRS score, virtually guaranteeing an ITA in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
